One month old!!

Claire turned one month old last week! It feels like just yesterday we had her and other times it feels like years :) She had her one month check up and she was 8 lbs 6 oz and 21 inches long.

Happy 1 month!

Claire and I got to have lunch with our Mommy's group. There are 9 moms in the group and all of the babies were born within 2 weeks of each other...7 of them (including Claire) were all born in the same week! It will be fun to see how all of the babies grow.

Over the weekend, we all went to watch the UVA football team in Alexandria. They were up here doing a practice scrimmage. We met up with the Deekens and had a lot of fun!

Family Time!

We had a great past weekend filled with lots of family time! Claire got to meet a lot of people! On Saturday Aunt Cindy & Jiffy and Uncle Mike & Danny (and of course Grandma and Grandpa) came up for a visit. We had a nice lunch and then spontaneously we piled in the car and headed to Carmax. Having 2 uncles here in the car business and us getting somewhat of an urge for a bigger car...we decided to go see what they had and do some test drives. No new car for now!
The gang!

Uncle Mike holding a baby...yikes!

Sunday we headed over to my cousin Melissa's house for a baptism party for her daughter, Caroline. Claire and Caroline are 6 months apart so I can't wait until they can play together!

On Monday we got a surprise visit from Uncle Jim!

This past week we also celebrated St. Patrick's Day...which pretty much entailed Claire wearing her green outfit :) Grandma also came up for a visit and we all got to go on a fun shopping outing to Walmart and Homegoods! Claire also got to go out to dinner with Mommy and Daddy to Cheesecake Factory...yum! She slept the whole time!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Always is doing something with her hands!

2 Week Recap

Trying to catch up on all that has happened in the past 2 weeks. It's been a whirlwind!

Coming Home!
We left the hospital 2 days after Claire arrived and we're welcomed home by both grandparents and Aunt Kristen.

A lot has happened in the past 2 weeks. Claire got her first bath at home, lost her belly button, went on her first walk. We've also had lots of play time and book readings.

She's here!!

Wow, it's been awhile since I posted! But she is finally here!

Claire Jane Durr was born on February 25, 2011 at 3:45pm. She weighed 7 lbs 5 oz and was 20 inches long.

Luckily, labor went surprisingly well. She was here after only 30 minutes of pushing. David was a great labor coach! We are truly blessed to welcome her into our family!

Halloween weekend!

We had a wonderful Halloween weekend. On Saturday we had 30 family members over for lunch. It was great to see everyone and show them the house! We also celebrated both our Dad's birthday's and David's 30th. It was quite the challenge to get the house in working order before everyone came...but we did and we're glad it's finished.

Sunday...we finally used our Groupon for the Crime and Punishment Museum in DC. It was also the Marine Corps Marathon on Sunday, so it was a little tricky getting into the city with the road closures. But we made it and even got to see some of the marathon runners. The museum was great! Went through the history of crime and punishment from Medieval, colonial, pirates, wild west, etc. It was a good way to spend Halloween...kind of spooky :)

The "colonial" era at the Crime and Punishment Museum.

We then buckled down for the trick or treaters to arrive. We didn't have as many as we thought, but there were still a lot. It was fun looking at all of the costumes. Even Molly dressed up :)

Our little hot dog :) She didn't move an inch with it on!

Furniture builders!

We spent the past weekend trying to finish up the house as best as we could. We've been gone most weekends so we buckled down this weekend and got to work. This is what awaited us.....
It wasn't so bad...we got furniture for our bedroom so now the guest room has a mattress, a shelf for the kitchen, bookshelf for the den and baby room furniture. We're waiting to assemble that!

Here are some of my belly pictures...hard to believe we're already half way there!

Fall weekends

We had a great past two weekends traveling with friends. Two weekends ago, we went to Lake Anna for the long Columbus Day weekend with two other couples from undergrad at UVA and six kids in age from 5 months to 7 years. It was a great learning experience for David and I....I think we're ready :)  We had a great weekend of hiking, smores, boating and relaxing.

This past weekend we traveled up to Pennsylvania with some Darden friends for a weekend of fly fishing. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate...30 mph gusts and about 40 degrees. It was freezing and raining too. We didn't get to go out on the boats to fish, but we did learn how to cast, tie knots, different lures, etc. It was very interesting. We also got to spend some time with good friends.

On the drive back we stopped in Hershey, PA and went to the Hershey factory. We got to make our own candy bars!

We also celebrated David's 30th Birthday!! He has a fun year ahead!
