A visit to the zoo!!

For Father's Day weekend we took a trip to the zoo! Claire LOVES animals!! And we have been wanting to go to the zoo for the longest time with her. We finally did and she was mesmerized by them. So much fun seeing everything through her eyes now :)

Monkeys!!

Waving to the monkeys some more!

Feeding the giraffe! She even pet one, so brave!

They had a bird area with parakeets where you could feed the birds with some seed at the end of the stick. Claire had no fear and when Daddy was feeding one she wanted to do it all herself!

I'll do it Daddy!

She loved it!

Want some more

Just strolling

Penguins!! Just like in one of her favorite books.

Nags Head!

For Memorial Day weekend we made our annual trip to Nags Head!! This year was so much fun with Claire. She loved playing in the sand with her toys (she did prefer her bottom on the towel and no sand on her feet while playing but still, she liked shoveling the sand into her bucket). She even liked putting her feet in the water. A few waves snuck up on us and got her pretty wet but she didn't seem to mind at all!

We got to eat a lot of great food and hang out with family! Such a fun time, can't wait for next year!

Shades on and ready to head to the beach!

All ready!

Playing in the sand :)

Water!

Loved her chair!

Grammie's twin chair :)

Please get the sand off my feet Aunt Cindy

Relaxing with everyone!

Walking up the sand dune

She loved taking a shower outside!!

15 months!

Claire turned 15 months on May 25th!! She weighs 17.2lbs (5%) and is 28.5 inches tall (5%).

She is talking up a storm. She really will try to repeat anything you say. Her vocabulary is really expanding every day! Some of her new words are: apple, bear, pizza, bush, heart, star, ice, pzul (pretzel), and p-apple (pineapple).

She now can feed herself with her spoon. She will eat yogurt and cereal (loves cheerios with milk now) with her spoon. A new favorite - peanut butter sandwiches!! She loves those things. And pineapple!
Her love of animals is still going strong! She can tell you that a fish swims, a butterfly flies, and scrunch her nose when you ask what a rabbit does.
Cutie pie!

Working with the spoon!

Let me get a little more

Hi there!

Trevor

Our beloved family dog, Trevor, passed away on Monday. We were blessed to have him in our family for nearly 15 years. He truly was the best dog you could ask for.

In his younger days, he could play frisbee for hours. Always bringing it right back to you. He never went in the street...ever. Unless you had him on a leash or told him it was ok. He loved being outside. Most weekends he spent his day outside with Dad doing whatever he was doing out there...mowing the grass, working on the pool, etc. He was Dad's right hand man.

Birthday parties were always the more fun when Trevor would "sing" happy birthday to you by howling along with everyone. He was one smart dog. It felt like he understood everything you said and would really listen to you.

Once David and I introduced Molly to the family Trevor looked after Molly whenever we were all together. And Molly gave hime good reason as she had a tendency to run off into the marsh behind Mom and Dad's house quite often. After this happened a couple of times (Trevor was inside during the first incidences) Trevor would not let Molly out of his sight whenever they were outside together. Trevor became Molly's shadow and would not let her run off again. I'm very thankful for how much he looked after her!

Claire loved Trevor so much too! And he was always so sweet and gentle to her. Claire loved to lay right next to him and love on him.

He was loved by all! We will miss him dearly!
