Lately

We've been really busy lately counting down the weeks until Baby #2 gets here!! We're switching around Claire's room, the nursery and the guest room. So it's been a lot of painting, furniture assembly, etc. Claire's new room is all finished and she slept in her new big girl bed for the first time on Saturday. She did great!! Soon the nursery should be all set up and that will be a big relief too...less than 7 weeks until due date...yikes!!

Claire is really into pretend play now and it's really fun to listen to and watch! She loves her baby dolls and is really good at taking care of them. Feeding them, changing them, putting them down for naps, etc. She will be a big help once the baby gets here!! She lines up her stuffed animals or her "friends" as she calls them and have tea parties, picnics or she will reenact story time with books/songs! She loves, loves playing with rocks and sand too. She could be out there all day doing that. She also really enjoys coloring and drawing now. We got her a small activity table and she will draw and color with her markers and be happy as can be.

She is getting really good with counting now. She is doing better actually pointing and counting things out. She recognizes 1-20 and does great counting 1-20. She's great with all of the colors and knows most shapes. Some new ones in the mix now are octagon and hexagon!! Her memory is amazing too. After getting a book from the library and reading it once, she will have the title memorized and ask for that book by name. Some of her favorite books she can "read" it along with you as she knows what is next!

Lots of outside playground time!

We planted a garden with tomato, green peppers and strawberries. We have some tomato plants sprouting up!

Bouncy house fun!! She loved this. She would have stayed in for hours if we let her. I was a little nervous with other bigger kids in there, but if she got bumped down she laughed and got right back up!

Doing some arts and crafts at the children's museum.

Climbing up the wall!

Visiting the goat at Blue Bird Gap Farm

Swung on the "big" girl swing all by herself!

Coloring on her new table

So excited to wear her rain boots and umbrella...thanks Grammie!!

Building a tall tower with daddy!

She built this one all by herself!! I think she has some sort of vision in mind :)

Big sibling class at the hospital. She learned how to feed her baby a bottle, change a diaper, burp and swaddle. She also got to see the new babies in the nursery which she absolutely loved!

Climbing the tree at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens.

They had a spray park at Lewis Ginter and we really weren't planning on it being open or doing it at all, but she saw it and was so excited to do it that we just stripped her down to her diaper and let her have at it. She had an absolute blast and ran around shrieking for a long time!!

Morning walk...she picked out the giraffe socks and shoes herself. Really into picking out outfits, shoes, socks, etc on her own.

Her new big girl bed!!

Cuddled up for her first night in her big girl bed! She was so sweet and so excited about it. When we said good night and left the room she smiled and waved to us.

Savannah

We had a wonderful vacation in Savannah!! We rented a house and were a few blocks away from Forsyth Park. Our mornings started with a walk down to the park with Claire and Molly. Claire loved the playground and fountain there and Molly just loved the walk! The spanish moss covered oak trees were always so pretty to look at and so unique to Savannah.

We loved walking through the historic Savannah squares (especially the one from Forest Gump). We ventured down to River Street for some shopping and great food. We had dinner at Paula Deen's Lady and Sons one night and it was soooo good :)

One morning we visited Tybee Island and the light house there. Mommy was a little frightened by the height and windy day when we got to the top...as seen in the pictures below. Claire wasn't fazed and loved it! We also visited the beach there and Claire loved it!! She just wanted to stay and splash and play in the water. Can't wait for some more beach trips this summer!!

It was a wonderful vacation!!

She was worn out! It is very rare for her to fall asleep anywhere but her crib, but she was go, go, go so much she would often fall asleep on the walk home after a busy day.
